Walk Scotland’s first official island-long distance footpath. Our front door is just half a mile from the beginning
of The West Island Way, which opened in 2000 to celebrate the millennium. This path runs for the full length of

Choose how intrepid you want to be with this route. You can power walk this track in less than 24 hours, or relax
and spread it over as many as five days. The way-marked route means you don’t run the risk of losing your
way as you cross a varied and fascinating landscape that includes:

on the mountains of Arran. This short, but tricky, course offers panoramic views across the Kilbrannan Sound to
Kintyre in the west and to the Ayrshire coast in the east.
